Planting for Succession
With Fergus Garrett
Thursday 10th June 201010.15am-1.00pm
Perhaps the biggest challenge in the garden is maintaining a display in the border throughout a long season. Fergus Garrett has exceptional experience in devising ingenious schemes to achieve this successfully at Great Dixter. His half day lecture will address the choice of plants, deciding on colours and achieving contrasting shapes and textures, moving on to successional planting embracing inter-planting with bulbs, integrating bedding and providing for self-sowing.
£65 including lunch
Fergus Garrett has been head gardener at Great Dixter for the past sixteen years and formed a celebrated gardening partnership with Christopher Lloyd. During this time many fascinating changes and experiments have taken place most of which has been chronicled in very regular articles in the gardening press.
