Orchards and the Rill Spring Flowers
Over the last few years, many late spring flowering bulbs, cowslips and snakeshead fritillaries have been planted to complement the apple blossom in the old orchards. Despite their age, the trees are still very productive. The apples and pears are used for making jams and chutneys for use and sale in the Stableyard Café, and for puddings for Garden School lunches.

Adjacent to the Car Park and the Woodland Garden are two apple orchards, which were planted in 1993. There are approximately 70 different varieties of apple, some of which are available for sale when the garden is open in September.
